Clare & Josh's New Year's Eve Wedding at Heaton House Farm
Clare heard about me through her Dad, who is a family friend. When I met her and Josh, he immediately recognised me as the photographer from a wedding at the Three Horseshoes Inn, that he'd attended as a guest, back in 2016.
We chatted and they had a look at some of my wedding albums, and, I'm delighted to say they chose me to photograph their Heaton House Farm wedding on New Year's Eve.
Heaton House Farm is a stunning country wedding venue, situated in the hills, right on the border of Staffordshire and Cheshire.
I arrived at the venue in time to photograph Clare's preparations for this New Year's Eve wedding, in the aptly named Hen House Pamper Room.
While Clare and her bridesmaids put on their dresses, I left to photograph Josh. He wore his Royal Navy uniform for the ceremony and, when I found him, Heaton House Farm's wedding coordinator, Harriet, was giving him and the rest of the Groom's party, a little help with their buttonholes.
With Clare in her stunning 1920s-style wedding dress, and her bridesmaids glittering in gold, everything was ready her Dad's first look.
The ceremony took place under Heaton House Farm's starlit ceiling, with family and friends watching.
Because of the combination of the December weather and the fact that we didn't have much time until the sun went down, everyone went outside for the formal shots, as well as a few fun ones.
Inside, the room was decorated beautifully for the wedding breakfast, with the tables named after songs by Fleetwood Mac, one of hte couple's favourite bands.
Steve, Clare's Dad, started off proceedings by welcoming everyone to the wedding and even managed to shoehorn an ad for my business into his speech! Thanks, Steve.
With the wedding breakfast complete, we went outside for some flashlit portraits of the couple. Despite the rain, Clare and Josh were happy to pose outside, and I'm delighted they did, because I love the photos we got.
After that, Clare and Josh went back inside for their first dance, then they and their guests partied until 2023.
