Margaret & Phil's Upper House Wedding
When I met with Margaret and Phil to talk about their wedding plans, the main thing that came through to me was that they didn't want a lot of formality or fuss. Their wedding was all about celebrating with close family and friends, with very little formality
The venue Margaret and Phil had chosen fitted this relaxed air perfectly. The Upper House at Barlaston was built in the 1840s for Josiah Wedgwood's grandson and is set in 10 acres of glorious gardens. I've been to the Upper House as a wedding photographer a few times now, but I don't recall it ever looking lovelier than on this particular spring day.
So, there was no wedding dress, no formal suits for the men, and the bride and groom walked down the aisle together at the start of the ceremony... after the couple's dogs had cleared them a path!
With the legal portion complete, it was time to go outside and enjoy those gardens - and for me to take some more wedding photographs, of course.
